Ministry of Defense revealed blows against criminal structures in Nariño and Chocó “This group is estimated to have 140 members in the Department of Chocó and its ringleader was in the city of Medellín at a medical treatment and has several arrest warrants, one of them for conspiracy and another for forceful displacement,” indicated Pinzón.
On the other hand, the defense leader informed that on the roads from Tumaco to Pasto, in the Department of Nariño, three members of the Terrorism Support Network were captured, who belong to the FARC's “Daniel Aldana” column, among them its ringleader alias “Willington”.
“Alias “Willington” was with another two guerrillas of that organization “Daniel Aldana”, and were installing five cylinders to prepare an attack with explosives against police or units of the Armed Forces that would travel along the road in the next days,” indicated the senior official.
Finally, Minister of Defense Juan Carlos Pinzón assured that the Armed Forces will continue working to prevent terrorist attacks and other crimes against the Colombian people.
“These are important results that demonstrate that we did not lower the guard for a single minute, that we are trying by all means to work for the security of the citizens on foot and that we persecuted the terrorist groups, the criminal bands, and criminal groups the same, without rest,” affirmed Pinzón.

Minister of Defense Juan Carlos Pinzón announced that in recent hours the National Police captured alias “Raton” in Medellín, ringleader of the Renacer criminal group that operates in Chocó, and alias “Willington” in Nariño, head of the Terrorism Support Network of the FARC's “Daniel Aldana” column.
The Minister revealed that in the first operation, captured in the city of Medellín, Elver Alejandro Avila, alias “Raton”, maximum ringleader of the "Renacer" criminal group in Chocó, presumably responsible for multiple extortions in recent months on retailers in that region of the country.
